The first Mikimoto Pearl Store was opened in Tokyo's Ginza district, home to the latest Western fashion trends, at Yazaemoncho, today's Namiki-dori. In 1906, it moved into a new building in Ginza 4-chome. The majority of the customers at the time were foreigners.
