Mikimoto the originator of the cultured pearl is delighted to
be able to support London based Japanese designer Miki Fukai. Miki Fukai graduated
in 2002 from Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design with a distinction
in MA Fashion Design.
Miki Fukai has been chosen as one of the New Generation
Designers supported by the British Fashion Council and Top Shop. This February
with the support of Mikimoto, Miki Fukai will show her Autumn/Winter 2004 collection
during London Fashion Week.
Mikimoto and Miki Fukai share many of the same attributes.
Both are from Japan and both use the best quality in all materials. Design is
another obvious comparison where the craft in itself is of great importance.
The Autumn/Winter 2004 Collection by Miki Fukai will feature Mikimoto Black Tahitian
pearls against the winter fabrics of cashmere, Icelandic wool and Harris Tweed.
