Mikimoto are delighted to sponsor a performance on 2nd June 2006. Kabuki is one of the world’s richest theatre traditions, with a history stretching back into Japan’s medieval past. This is a rare opportunity to see authentic Kabuki performed by one of Japan’s most iconic performers.

This is a fully-staged version of Kabuki, exactly as it would be seen in Tokyo or Kyoto, including a hanamichi walkway along which the actors pass through the audience. The live musical accompaniment features singing of great lyric beauty, as well as traditional Japanese instruments including the shamisen (three-stringed lute), drums and flute.
